15. New Mexico – $500 Rebates

In March 2022 a bill was approved by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, which is great news for people who’re looking for different ways to have more money in these uncertain times. With the help of this law, a number of reimbursements are to be sent out to state residents.

Starting on September 26th, low-income New Mexico residents are able to apply for relief payments of at least $400. If you live in the state of New Mexico, you’ll have to do a few things to qualify: provide proof that you are a legal resident of the state and had one of the following documents to be considered. such as your Social Security Number, New Mexico driver’s license number, and individual taxpayer identification number.

Unfortunately, you can no longer apply, as the deadline was October 7th, 2022. The state legislature allocated $10 million for economic assistance, some of which will go toward helping people who don’t have a big income. The number of applications was capped at the budgeted amount and families with the lowest incomes will have priority in receiving these rebates.

Those who filed their taxes alone and earned less than $75,000 per year (or spouses filing jointly, less than $150,000) were eligible for a $250 refund ($500 for joint filers). People who submitted their 2021 state tax return in July received an automatic refund check.

However, this wasn’t the only stimulus check people in New Mexico received. Those who filed alone got a cash award of $500, while those filing jointly were given $1,000.

People who qualified for this refund received the money in 2 installments, one in June 2022 and the other in August 2022. Those who submitted a 2021 state tax return received their refunds automatically.

For citizens whose annual income of less than $75,000, they might get as much as $750 with all rebates added together.

A direct transfer or paper stimulus check will be sent to you if you submit your 2021 state income tax return by May 31st, 2023. If you owe taxes on your 2021 tax return, the amount will be subtracted from your refund.

Why is the date of this article from 2022 and 2023
So does that mean there are no stimulus checks coming ? Because it is March of 2026 right now and I see nothing that shows it’s for the current year what is happening here why are we so confused with this?
