The Orange Markdown Stickers And Too Good To Waste Box

Shoppers can find bargain markdowns on Lidl’s already lower prices. In the bakery, for instance, day-old bread is discounted. You can recognize them by their wrappings. They’ll also have bright orange stickers on the packaging to show their new price.

The same goes for their packaged refrigerated produce, including lettuce and clamshell packs of salad greens, green beans, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, and salsa. By looking for these deals, you can also score close to sell-by-date meat and chicken inexpensively.

If you’re looking for loose, non-chilled produce, search for a box labeled Too Good to Waste. These are usually slightly bruised or ripe fruits and vegetables. You can buy the whole package for about a dollar or two.

The “Too Good to Waste” initiative, plus the orange tags, are part of the brand’s commitment to reducing food waste by at least 25% in each location and boosting sustainability.

This is amazing news for everyone since it’s more affordable food for us and revenue protection for Lidl, which circles back yet again to keeping their prices as low as possible.
