5. Shopping Logistics: Speed & Flexibility

Same-Day Delivery & Sub-Same Day

In 2026, speed is the name of the game. In major metro areas, Amazon has rolled out “Sub-Same Day” delivery for orders over $25. If you order eligible essentials (toothpaste, batteries, chargers) in the morning, they can arrive before dinner.

Amazon Day: The “Green” Option That Pays You

If you don’t need your item immediately, select “Amazon Day Delivery” at checkout. This consolidates your orders into fewer boxes arriving on a specific day of the week.

Why do it? Amazon often incentivizes this with digital credits—usually $1 to $3—that can be used for Kindle books, Prime Video rentals, or mp3s. It’s free money for being patient.

I do not want to pay for Prime. I don’t order enough to make it worth my while.
