15 Weekend Side Gigs That Pay You Enough for a Week

8. Teach English

If you love kids and you’d rather work from home, consider teaching English online to kids in China. For instance, by using VIPKid, you can earn an hourly rate of up to $22.

You don’t even need to speak Chinese; you should just be able to help students improve their foreign language skills. You’ll receive a curriculum, and you’ll only teach one child at a time to ensure each student gets the education and attention they deserve.

9. Be a Brand Ambassador

If you like discovering great new brands and sharing them with your family and friends, you may like working with companies to help them spread the word about their products. In many cities across the country, brands post ads on Craigslist seeking people to pass out samples at pop-up events, grocery stores, liquor stores, or other venues.

Sometimes these side gigs can overlap with your other interests or hobbies. For instance, you can find ads looking for people who like children to promote toys at a family-friendly event and ads seeking people to sample wine at a tasting. You can find these ads by checking out the “gigs” section found on your local Craigslist site.
