Rhode Island
Who’s Eligible: Whether your family will receive a Rhode Island “Child Tax Rebate” depends on your income and your 2021 filing status.
If you’re married and filed jointly on your 2021 Rhode Island income tax return, you qualify for a rebate if your adjusted gross income is $200,000 or less. For those with another filing status, the adjusted gross income can’t exceed $100,000. You must also be a Rhode Island resident.
Amount: Each qualified family will get a stimulus check of $250 per child, up to a maximum of $750 (that is, for up to three children). In order to receive the rebate check, the children must have been 18 or younger at the end of 2021.
When Sent: Refund checks are usually issued on a rolling basis. Rhode Island started sending checks in October 2022 to those who filed their 2021 state tax return by August 31, 2022. For residents who filed an extended state tax return by October 17, 2022, the checks were sent in December 2022.
