Weekend Closure Policy — No Saturday or Sunday Services

If you’re wondering whether Social Security offices are open on weekends, the answer is no. Local field offices are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. This closure applies consistently across the U.S., regardless of whether you live in a major city or a rural area.

Even if you’re used to weekend hours for other services like bank branches or some government agencies, the SSA doesn’t offer routine office hours on weekends, and most services are unavailable in person on those days.

Online tools and automated phone services remain available, however, for many tasks like checking benefit status or printing a record of your earnings.
