South Carolina

Who’s Eligible: You qualify for a tax rebate if you file a 2021 South Carolina tax return by February 15, 2023, and you have a state tax liability for the 2021 tax year. The original filing deadline of October 17, 2022, was pushed back to February 15, 2022, to give those affected by Hurricane Ian more time to file.

Amount: The stimulus check amount will be based on your 2021 state income tax liability, minus credits. However, this amount is limited to $800.

When Sent: Due to Hurricane Ian, South Carolina is sending stimulus checks in two phases, depending on when your 2021 state tax return is filed. Payments have been issued to individuals who filed a tax return by October 17, 2022.

For residents who file after this date but before February 15, 2023, a stimulus check will be issued by March 31, 2023. Usually, you should receive your tax refund in the same way you got your rebate in 2022—either a paper check or via direct deposit.

Will the state of Missouri, namely the Cape Girardeau, MO Social Security recipients, be advised to whether they will receive a stimulus check. We are just wondering, as we haven’t yet. Just though it may not hurt to ask.

I am on social security and not making enough to file taxes and I never received a stimulus check at all. I guess it proves a point that you have to make money to get money. California was susposta get a gasoline stimulus check also, never seen that either.
