Jewel-Osco
Midwesterners beware! Jewel-Osco is a supermarket chain that lands on many lists of the most expensive grocery stores in the United States of America. Forbes magazine has even declared that the grocery store chain has become a bit smug, at least with its Chicago-area stores.
They argue that the chain’s stores aren’t updated. And many of them look dark and shabby and are poorly stocked and staffed by employees who seem like they’re overworked, under-inspired, and overall unhappy to be there.
Combine that with the high prices they have, and you should probably steer clear of this grocery store if you can.
