10. Indiana – $325 Rebate Payments

If you live in the state of Indiana, consider yourself lucky because, similar to Georgia, this state had a budget surplus at the end of 2021 and decided to give back to its citizens in the form of 2 refunds.

Indiana taxpayers might expect a one-time reimbursement of $125 after filing their 2021 returns, as Governor Eric Holcomb said in December 2021.

If you want to qualify, there is no minimum income necessary to do it. However, in order to be eligible for this rebate payment, you must have submitted your 2020 state income tax return by January 3rd, 2022, and your 2021 Indiana income tax return by April 18th, 2022. In conformity with a state resource website, the state began its payments in May.

If both spouses filed taxes together, they would each get a single deposit that is worth $250. In August 2022, it was decided to give out another refund of $200 to each taxpayer.

Typically, refunds will be paid out in 2 installments, with the second payment beginning to go out to taxpayers in late August 2022. You will be issued a paper check if your bank information has changed or if direct deposit information is not on file.

The first mailing was delayed for many months due to a problem with the printing process, but it finally restarted around the middle of August. After that date, each taxpayer will get one check for the full $325 value of both rebates.

In October, the state will begin delivering the printed checks to their recipients. The Indiana Department of Revenue said that qualified recipients who haven’t gotten their checks yet shouldn’t contact them until November 1st.

…If you need any additional information, check out the state’s Department of Revenue website.
