Standard Operating Hours — Weekday Basics

Most Social Security local field offices across the United States operate on a weekday schedule. Typically, offices are open:

Monday through Friday

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. local time for walk-in or scheduled services

This schedule generally applies nationwide, but exact opening and closing times may vary slightly from one location to another. Some offices may close earlier on certain days (for example, midday on Wednesdays to allow staff to perform non-public duties) or reduce hours due to staffing, local conditions, or other administrative needs.
