#7 Cigarettes

If a few years back you were able to buy cigarettes for a great deal from your local Costco warehouse, ever since 2016 there seems to have been a problem finding them. That is because the retailer has started to pull them from their stores. And while some would commend their decision to stop selling such a health hazard, it wasn’t just because they cared for the health of their customers.

A spokesperson admitted that tobacco products have a very low margin, they attract more petty thieves, and due to local regulations when it comes to such products, it’s a very labor-intensive product to continue keeping in stores. Due to these factors, they decided to slowly pull cigarettes and other tobacco products from their stores to make space for other items.

While they’re far from the first or the only retailer that has decided to pull these products, they’ve definitely upset a few chain smokers with their decision.

  1. I miss the cheese bagels!!! A staff member told me they take longer to bake! (My daughter in Minneapolis still can sometimes get them.) I wasn’t going to argue but REALLY?? please bring them back to Tampa Bay FL stores 🙏🏻

  2. Studded snow tires ar eillegal in most states (except for emergency vehicle and postal vehicles), so no surprise there. Cigarette smokers are classified just below pedophiles, so no surprise there either. The rest of these ar business decisions that tell me that they really don’t want the customers that bought them. That’s why I don’t and won’t be a Costco customer.

  3. They usually discontinue what is not selling well or most because the price had to go too high for the customers to save money.
