They’re All About The Private Label

Approximately 90% of the shelves in Lidl are stocked with its own private-label products. And according to a statement they released, their brand items are developed and strictly tested by Lidl’s expert buyers.

They take quality assurance very seriously, and only the items that are rated as good or better are allowed on the store’s shelves. In fact, they pride themselves on selling their private-label products at affordable prices.

It can be compared to Trader Joe’s, for example, but even more inexpensive. This includes buying chicken breasts for $2.29 a pound and hummus for $3.

The wine isn’t bad either. Lidl’s Allini Prosecco was named “Sparkling Wine of the Year” recently at a blind tasting run by Purdue University. In the end, Lidl’s wines, starting at $2.89 a bottle, took home 104 medals!
