Discounts are fine, but what about getting something you desire for FREE? Check out all the freebies you need to grab now.

Woop, woop! Did someone just say the word “freebies”? Count me in, for sure! In a world where everything must cost something, there is a list of amazing things, and all of them are for free. Yes, you’ve heard me well!

Free birthday treats, free capital gains, free access to culture, free technology, the possibility of learning new things, and more are all available here. I am curious to know how many you know about. Please leave comments at the end of the article. I’d love to chat with you.

But before that, make sure you put your wallet as far away as possible, ’cause you won’t need it. Without further ado, here are some of the freebies you need to grab now or ASAP:

10. Free eye care

Putting your health first is one of the best things in life. But what do you do when your insurance doesn’t cover anything? You look for free stuff. That’s why I have great news for you! One of the first freebies you need to grab now is eye exams.

For people without private insurance who are 65 years of age or older and have not visited an eye doctor in three or more years, EyeCare America, a public service initiative of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, offers free eye exams and up to a year of care for any condition found during that test. For more information regarding this topic, check out their website and see if you qualify for this freebie.

9. Free fitness advice (and recipes)

If you’re interested in losing weight, gaining some muscles, or simply adopting a healthier lifestyle regarding dieting and such, but you don’t have the money to pay for a fitness trainer, I get you! The good news is that some free apps can help you with your progress.

One of my favorites is MyFitnessPal. This is a free app that you can easily download on your phone and track your calorie intake during the day by adding everything you eat.

Besides that, they also offer free recipes to try out and a couple of training exercises suitable for each group of people (seniors, beginners, and advanced).

8. Free museum visits

This is by far one of the best free things you can get, especially if you’re interested in culture and entertainment. While for a lot of museums, you still have to pay a small amount, there are a lot of others that offer free admission year-round.

Some of them are the Museum of Modern Art in New York (which offers to enter for free on some days of the month); Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo; and the Smithsonian museums in Washington.  Furthermore, if you have an account at Bank of America, you can gain free entrance to more than 225 museums in the country.

7. Free fishing spots

Hey there fishermen, this is definitely going to make you happy because, no matter your age, one of the free things you can get is fishing without a license on certain days in most states, saving you anywhere from $7 to $30, depending on where you live.

TakeMeFishing.org has a list of states and dates, or you may contact your local fish and wildlife department for further information.

6. Free streaming services

Do you find yourself binge-watching a lot on Netflix? Well, as much as I love Netflix and HBO MAX, each subscription adds up to the monthly expenses. Among all the free things that you can get, free movies and TV series online are possible through SonyCrackle.com.

Hulu also allows you to get a one-month free trial to see if their services are good for you; just don’t forget to remove the card when the month is over so they won’t charge you.

5. Free music

Those workouts you’re planning to do won’t go smoothly if you don’t put your favorite music on. Spotify, Pandora, and iHeartRadio offer free versions but also premium subscriptions that, depending on the plan, might cost a bit.

However, if you don’t mind commercials here and there after a couple of songs, then you’re good to go with Spotify. I have the free version of it, and I am actually pretty satisfied with it.

 4. Free courses

If you’ve always wanted to continue your studies or approach a new field, now’s the time to do so! Many universities and colleges offer open, free online courses without strict entry requirements, including all eight Ivy League schools. On websites like Saylor.org, Coursera, and Class Central, you can search through hundreds of available courses. For certain programs, you can even obtain formal credits and certificates.

This is one of the freebies you need to grab now, especially if you want to take a side gig in retirement. Most of them are available for older residents over the age of 60. So if you qualify, don’t miss this opportunity.

…psst! If you enjoy reading a good book then you should know that on Amazon there are a ton of free books available for Kindle. I don’t know what your reading preferences are but I just finished reading The Perfect Wife by Blake Pierce. Captivating and suspenseful this book was very nice to read. Plus is one of the freebies you need to grab now, so hurry up!

3. Free capital gains

All we do is pay taxes for Uncle Sam, and every little earn we must declare to avoid fines. While this is only fair (even if it’s a hassle), some investments are 100% tax-free. If I made you curious, you must know that you can invest in a Roth IRA to avoid paying capital gains taxes.

When you cash out in retirement, you won’t owe Uncle Sam a single dollar since any money you put into your Roth stays tax-free. Everything is yours. I just hope I made your day a bit better!

2. Free cash back on your purchases

Since you’re going grocery shopping at least once a week, why not use those purchases and turn them into one of the freebies you need to grab now? I am referring to the cashback rewards. It is, of course, only free, provided that interest-free monthly payments of the remaining debt are made.

If you are a fan of online shopping, you can get free cash if you shop online on websites like Ebates, BeFrugal, and Extrabux. From their listings, you choose a store, and they refund you for a portion of the purchase price (usually between 1% and 10%).

1. Free birthday treats

And the winner is… free birthday treats for everybody! Among all the freebies you need to grab now, the one that gets you birthday treats is by far the best. Many restaurants give cute gifts on their birthdays to those who care to join their clubs or subscribe to their email lists. For instance, if you join Baskin-Robbins Birthday Club, you will receive a free scoop of ice cream of your choice as a gift for your birthday. Woohoo!

This is for you, you waffle fans, if you join the Waffle House Regulars Club you can receive a free waffle as a gift for your birthday. Among all the freebies you need to grab now, all the So Connected members can enjoy a complimentary burger or garden bar dish on Ruby Tuesday to celebrate their birthday. I’d say you give it a shot!
