How Much Will You Receive?

For 2026, the maximum federal SSI payment is:

  • Up to $994 per month for an eligible individual
  • Up to $1,491 per month for an eligible couple
  • Up to $498 per month for an essential person who provides necessary care and assistance

Not everyone receives the maximum benefit amount.

Actual payments depend on factors such as:

  • Countable income
  • Financial resources
  • Living arrangements
  • Other forms of assistance received

Individuals with additional income or support may receive reduced benefits, while others may qualify for the full federal amount.
