10. U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa Signature® — Best for tailored high-return quarters

Why it’s great: U.S. Bank Cash+ lets you choose two 5% categories each quarter (on the first $2,000 in combined spend) and one 2% category, with 1% on everything else. The ability to pick high-value categories (gas stations, department stores, cell phone providers, etc.) makes this a lucrative card if you time and target purchases carefully.

Who should get it: Strategic earners who can plan quarterly purchases and are comfortable managing category enrollments.

Tip: You must enroll (or choose) categories each quarter; missed enrollment often results in lower returns—set a calendar reminder.
