4. California – Up to a $1,050 Tax Credit

Approximately 23 million citizens of California began receiving their “Middle-Class Tax Refund” on October 7th. If you live in California and want to check whether you can qualify for tax relief or not, go to the California Franchise Tax Board website. According to them, 90% of these payments will be released in October.

Individual taxpayers whose annual income is $75,000 or less will get a $350 one-time payment. If a married couple’s combined yearly income is less than $150,000, they will get $700. Moreover, families with qualified dependents will get an extra $350 if they are eligible.

The highest benefit for taxpayers with earnings between $75,000 and $250,000 is a progressive benefit with a maximum payment of $350. If they have a qualifying member in their home, in a situation like this, households can receive an extra $250.

Eligible taxpayers who received Golden State Stimulus checks through direct deposit should get their Middle Class tax refund between October 7th and October 25th.

Those who got their California stimulus funds on a debit card will also be issued a debit card for their Middle Class tax refund between October 25th and December 10th. The remaining debit card payments will be sent before or on January 15th, 2023.

If you filed your California tax return for 2020 online and had your refund deposited directly into your bank account, you should get your money between October 28th and November 14th.
