5. Sales at other stores may be less than $1

Believe it or not, plenty of other stores can offer you discounts that go lower than $1. Yes! It’s true! One of them is Costco, which often has deals if you are buying your products in bulk. They offer discounts on huge packs of everyday items like toilet paper, for instance, selling a 36-pack of rolls for $32.

When you do the math, that comes out to be less than $1 per roll. Their deals, however, will also be on trusted brand names, so if you are looking for both quantity and quality, Costco is the real deal. Let’s not forget about Target or Trader Joe’s, which also offer great deals for their customers, and a lot of them can also be less than $1. So which one will you choose? Tell us in the comments.

Thanks for the enlightenment. For the real deals I prefer Costco, most recently it was Target. Target changed it’s DEI policy due to the current administration and as such Target lost a Hugh customer and many of my family members and friends. If Target doesn’t think we are all important then Target can keep their products. I will shop at Dollar stores for cards and similar items.

Like anywhere you shop you should be aware of what you’re purchasing. Whether at Dollar stores or at bigger retailer chains. All the stores here about the bottom line and a lot of them carry products that are no good for us. For low income people, we enjoy the dollar store because it’s affordable but knowing what to buy from the dollar store is important. There’s a lot of things that aren’t worth the purchase because they break quickly, and for maybe a dollar or more at Walmart or Target you can purchase the same items with better quality and it will last. I myself enjoy clearance shopping at places like that in Burlington because you get more for your money and way better quality than dollar stores. I do like Dollar tree for things such as birthday balloons and items you need for birthday parties. Definitely cards are nice and cheap there, pot holders, some of their dishes and other name brand items that offer you a smaller quantity for a cheaper price. so long as you shop smart, you’ll be okay. But if you love yourself and your children, be careful of the cheap plastics and such because they’re made like the article said with chemicals that are dangerous and later in life you’re wondering why your health is so poor, it’s because of all the cheap products your purchasing. Just shop smart, and you’ll find deals everywhere you go

I live in Toronto, Ontario and occasionally shop at Dollarrama for socks, stockings, greeting cards and supplies. As almost absolutely nothing is $1.00… like maybe 5%, I think they should change their name to DOLLAR SCAMMER!!! I’m just another number.

Many, many years ago, my future wife and I were at a Dollar Tree. My wife had grabbed several cans of spaghetti sauce, for a dollar. At the time I was a home health aide and would shop for my client. I knew how much those cost at both HEB – a Texas grocery store – and Walmart. They were only 98 cents there. I told her that if she wanted to buy them, we would get them at the grocery store. I mean, they were a big name (Hunts) but since we were trying to save money, we were not going to get those at the Dollar Tree.

Everything is more costly. Companies moved manufacturing out of this country so they didn’t need to deal with the unions or higher minimum wage or the cost of providing decent benefits. The costs of production kept low means much higher profit margins to the stockholders.
