Consulting a fee-only financial planner or a local SHIP volunteer provides unbiased guidance through complex Medicare and appeal rules.

Who Qualifies for the $90 Payment

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) said 20.8 million Americans enrolled in Original Medicare Part B are eligible. To get the payment, you must be enrolled in Original Medicare Part B, live in the U.S., not receive Medicaid assistance for your premiums, and not pay an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA).

If you have Original Medicare plus a supplement, you can still qualify. Medigap and stand-alone Part D drug plans sit on top of Original Medicare, so people who have them are eligible as long as they meet the other conditions.
