I am a victim of identity theft. I received a letter from the Alabama Social Security Administration office my first name was removed and my number was given to someone living in Columbiana Shelby county Alabama. The first name was Barbara Griffin. My name is Katherine Griffin. I wanted to have this matter resolved before I reach my retirement age.
As I stated before I been on disability SS and using my late husband’s income due to the money he made. I was told by a person when I started drawing disability once I turned 65 I would be switched over to regular SS. A month after turning 65 I called to find out why I wasn’t switched over to regular SS as I would be drawing much more money each month. I was told I had to stay on disability and wouldn’t be drawing regular SS. Now I’m making just over $1700 a month. It took years to reach this amount (last yr). I know many people who’s been switched from disability to regular SS which upsets me. I wouldn’t have a hard time making ends meet if I was drawing regular SS. I lost count calling to be switched over and each time told no. Why people been switched over and I can’t. It isn’t fair Mary J Hall
